Grab some popcorn...20 Movies and Documentaries about Money That (You and) Your Students Will Enjoy
Thanks to Brian Page for curating this list that he describes as "NOT Movies or documentaries about economics or financial industry scandals that have very little pragmatic value for high school students." He's included a brief description of the video, the financial topics that are covered and the duration. He also created a form so that you can vote on your top 5. Vote by April 15th and he will tally the results and share on FinLIt Fanatics.
Here's a sampling of movies he included:
- Minimalism: A Documentary About the Important Things
- Thinking Money: The Psychology Behind Our Best and Worst Financial Decisions
- 30 Days On Minimum Wage
Sit back in your comfortable and enjoy these movies that will make you think differently about money.

About the Authors
Tim Ranzetta
Tim's saving habits started at seven when a neighbor with a broken hip gave him a dog walking job. Her recovery, which took almost a year, resulted in Tim getting to know the bank tellers quite well (and accumulating a savings account balance of over $300!). His recent entrepreneurial adventures have included driving a shredding truck, analyzing executive compensation packages for Fortune 500 companies and helping families make better college financing decisions. After volunteering in 2010 to create and teach a personal finance program at Eastside College Prep in East Palo Alto, Tim saw firsthand the impact of an engaging and activity-based curriculum, which inspired him to start a new non-profit, Next Gen Personal Finance.
