Just One Resource - COMPARE: Charities
In this weekly blog post, the Curriculum team will highlight Just One Resource from our NGPF collection that maybe doesn't get the attention it deserves. Use it this week or bookmark it for later. |
[The Resource] COMPARE: Charities
The Gist: During this season of giving, it's important to look closely at how charities, nonprofits and organizations use people's donations. With this activity, your students will research organizations and causes that they are passionate about and compare how those charities allocate their money and donations.
The Best Parts:
- After reading a article on what percentage of donations go to charity, your students will research and compare 4 different organizations of their choice in a table, specifically looking at the program, admin, and fundraising expenses, and organization star rating.
- Using the Charity Navigator, your students will be able to easily learn about and compare charities in order to inform their decision when they decide to donate their time, efforts, or money to organizations.
