Vanguard: Investor Questionnaire

You want to start investing… but how much should you put into stocks, bonds, and other investments?

Vanguard’s Investor Questionnaire gets investors thinking about how different factors like their investing style and their retirement age impact their asset allocation. Students answer 11 questions and get a recommended breakdown of what their asset allocation can look like.

Questions:

  1. In your words, explain what asset allocation is.
  2. What role do you think the following factors play in figuring out what someone’s asset allocation might be?
    1. Time
    2. Risk
  3. How did completing the questionnaire expand your view of investing?

This interactive is a great fit for NGPF lessons Managing Risk and Start Investing - part of the Investing unit!
