Great service project idea for your high school students:  Develop a skit to teach younger students about an important personal finance concept:  saving, budgeting, being careful with your purchases, etc..

Students in Shawna Koger’s macroeconomics class at Arlington High School wrote and performed skits to teach elementary students about financial literacy last week as part of Money Smart Nebraska Week. One group even created a video parody of Meghan Trainor’s song “All About That Bass” to teach the students about saving.

As for the learning that took place…

“It’s good for some of these kids who have never been on stage in front of people, so it’s more of a learning experience for the high school kids, too,” Koger said.”

It looks like they had fun too!
